Temora
Temora - actually featured on TV this morning as a featured
snapshot by young people who submit their stories to the ABC…this one was about
a young girl and her Italian heritage and how the family all come together to
make the salamis – reminded me of Dad and Unca Jack and making Italian sausages
as well as brawn!!
Temora had
settlers who leased large tracts of land and by 1847 Temora Station was
established. Promoted as a place of people, planes and produce it has a long
history related to aviation and of course the partner had to visit the
museum! The community has a significant
number of volunteers to help with a variety of aspects in the town, including
running the movie theatre and this includes the young to the aged! A number of people have made the tree change
from city to country.
Of course,
it was the birthplace of Sir Donald Bradman and his family slab home is part of the museum here. A statue of Paleface Adios
can be found in the main street and the owner & trainer of this beloved
horse still reside here. The town boasts
a variety of boutique shops, cafes, hotels, talented artisans and other
businesses.
