All roads lead to Orange!

We departed Mudgee this morning and turned off to Wellington (nah, not in NZ yet!!!) It was
amazing to see so many dead kangaroos along the road traversed, with three to five per ten to twenty metres for long stretches! Sadly amongst the roadkill was a huge wombat, so I am yet to see a live one in the outback! Wellington was a rather large community with some beautiful buildings but many were run down! Each town we meandered through had places that were old, rustic, very loved or totally neglected and it was easy to see the places where the community were striving to get their town thriving!  One artist we came across was encouraging the whole town to construct a tourism feature of "änimals on bikes" for 120kms.  Some of the pics we saw were lovely and looked awesome, like the tin horse highway.  We need to do something like this for our town like Sheep Shenanigans, the Stirlings  & Symphonies  and hold a week long festival during holiday break time!!
